Nothing focuses your mind to the present moment faster than balancing your whole body on your hands! Come join Robert and Erin on September 8th from 1-3 pm for a playful and strength-building arm balance workshop. This workshop is open to all levels (no arm balance experience necessary, but an existing vinyasa practice is required.)
Starting with a short vinyasa flow to focus the breath and warm up body, this workshop will teach the basics of crow (bakasana), side crow, and eka pada koundinyasana II, as well as strength building exercises that will help students along their arm balance journey. Each posture will include a demo, as well as opportunity for students to play and ask questions! Support in each posture will be provided in the form of hands-on assists if welcomed, and demonstration of how to utilize yoga props to support the balances.
Adding arm balances into your practice empowers the body and the mind, and forces us to confront our fears. Challenging, and having fun, with our physical body is imperative to becoming the most confident, balanced versions of ourselves once we step off the mat.
Class will end with a few restoring postures and a relaxing savasana. Come play!
